Paracord is a type of cord that was and still is used for parachute lines. It is strong, flexible and versatile.
It’s a long time since I served in the army myself and often did parachute jumps. I know exactly what parachute lines are and what they look like. It’s been almost 40 years since then, but I still remember how we even at that time weaved something from parachute lines. And no we didn’t cut them off the parachute of course! There were special repair kits for that. That’s where we took them from.
But paracord is not only used for parachutes. Paracord is used in many fields, for example in mountain climbing. It is also now extremely popular for making various handicrafts. It is most often used for survival bracelets, key chains, collars, leashes, belts, and the like.

Follow the instructions and make these simple two-color paracord keychains. Step-by-step photos will make it easy to make this keychain.
The supplies and tools needed to make the keychain:
A total of about 1.5 m (5 ft) of paracord, or two pieces of different colored paracord 75 cm (2.5 ft) each
Key ring;
Scissors and tape measure;
Lighter;

Using a lighter, we need to join the two ends of the paracord together. In the video tutorial, you can see how this can be done very simply.
Thread the paracord through the ring as shown in the photo below.
At a distance of no more than 10 cm, tie the first knots.
Next, make knots down to the ring.
And so on.
The photo below shows the keychain on both sides.
To complete the keychain, you need to cut the ends of the paracord one by one. Leaving about 5 mm of cord and then burn the tip with a lighter.
Then you need to press down, flatten the hot, melted end of the paracord so it won’t unravel later. You can use scissors or a lighter. Be careful not to burn yourself.
Do the same with the other end of the paracord.

Use a lighter to connect two pieces of paracord together.
Thread the paracord through the carabiner as shown in the photo below.
Thread the ring through. Measure no more than 10 cm, or you won’t have enough paracord. If you want to make the keychain bigger, increase the length of the paracord.
Slide the ends of the paracord through the carabiner.
Next, we will make simple knots.
Continue knotting until the ring.
Now we need to cut, melt and press the ends of the paracord. I have already described and shown you how to do this above.
