Take an ordinary clay pot and wash it thoroughly, using detergent. Allow it to dry in the open air. You need to prepare the surface. To do this, take sandpaper and treat the outside of the pot. This will help make the structure smooth for further paint application.

The next step is to apply an acrylic primer. This is done with a foam sponge (a thin layer). It is necessary to allow the acrylic to dry well for further action. Next, apply the color that you want to choose as the main color. Be guided by your taste and the interior of the house. Do not forget that the special napkin for decoupage that you have chosen will also be used. When choosing colors, it is necessary to take this into account.

Accordingly, the main color is applied with a sponge. It is possible to simplify the task a little bit, using a small roller. Thanks to such an application, the color lays more evenly on the surface. If you have leftover paint, collect it in a small container and close it tightly – you will still need it.

Take a special napkin and choose the elements you want to see on your pot. Cut out the details and detach the top layer, which has the main picture on it. Next, take the tray, put the cloth on the punched pocket and pour water on it. Carefully distribute all the water on the surface with a brush. This is necessary for an even application of the pattern without any crumbs and folds.

Then very carefully take out and drain the water, making sure the cloth stays on the surface of the punched pocket. Gently transfer the picture itself to the pot and press it firmly. Remove the punched pocket, but hold the picture with your fingers. Secure the new image with PVA glue. Let the workpiece dry. If the resulting pattern has noticeable borders, then take the paint and sponge – and add some paint. Mix and apply the rest of the colors that were selected for further decoration of the product.

The next step is to cover it with several coats of acrylic varnish. It is important after each coat to thoroughly dry the layer of varnish you have applied. Keep in mind that the more coats you apply, the more durable the product will be. As you can see, decoupage flower pots is very easy.
