Today we will together with you make a cute necklace from leather and stone with our own hands. We will use available material and a small amount of tools.

To create a decoration, we will need natural or artificial leather of different colors. In this master class I used leather of two colors: dark brown and gold. Leather thickness from 0.5 mm to 1 mm is suitable. I used leather with a thickness of about 1 mm.

Two flat beads made of plastic, although I am a proponent of all natural. One bead measures 50×35 mm, the second 30×20 mm.

Step by step tutorial for beginners. How to make your own jewelry from leather with stones.

We have already created some jewelry, you can see the previous master class. All master classes are suitable for beginners.

Before we start creating the necklace, we need to prepare strips of leather.

Draw a strip on the leather with a width of about 9 mm. Cut out the strip with scissors. Smear glue all over the inside of the strip and fold it in half. Hammer or roll the leather strip with a rubber mallet.

Glue together the desired number of strips of leather.

Begin gluing the leather strips to the stone.

It is better to glue the strip not all at once, but in parts. In my opinion, so it turns out neater. If in the last master class I glued the ends of the leather “in overlap”, now I do “in the joint”.

On the photo below the joint turned out not very neatly. But, on the bottom layer – it is not so important. The joint that will be visible (outside) should be done more qualitatively.

First glue one strip. On top of it we glue one more and one more. I made three layers.

The photo below shows the back side of the pendant.

The second bead is glued with leather in the same way.

Next, we need cardboard. Put the blanks on the cardboard, trace them with a pencil, cut them out with scissors.

Prepare thin leather, the size of a little more (1-2 cm) cardboard blanks.

Glue the cardboard to the underside of the skin. Then fold the leather. Do not worry about the folds – you will need to trim them later.

To connect the parts together I used waxed cord. For beauty I added two metal beads. I glued the ends of the cord to the pieces.

I glued a loop at the top. I made it from a metal pin.

After that we start assembling the pendant.

Lubricate the stone and cardboard with glue and join them together. First make the upper part of the pendant.

Then the bottom.

Back side.

For the necklace I used memory wire and silicone tubing. I added the hardware.

Leather and stone necklace is ready!
